Middle School, one of the most important periods in a student’s life, are the transition years where young adolescents go through profound changes in these formative years in terms of physical growth, emotional needs, maturity levels and academic progress. At PARC International School, our curriculum is designed to not only teach content and academic skills, but also provide each student a wide variety of opportunities to develop strong skills and manage responsibility effectively. For this purpose, we encourage students to take risks, make mistakes, explore their interests and passion, and above all build on their strengths and address their weaknesses. And because we believe that learning extends beyond the classroom walls, our curriculum encompasses the collective goals of exploration, interaction, and investigation.

The Middle School program harnesses the capacity for critical thinking and self-awareness in students, enabling them to find success in a progressive and challenging educational program. At PARC International School, we aim to create a school climate that is positive, caring, trusting, inviting, and safe to graduate Proud, Ambitious, and Responsible Citizens.

Academic Program

Academic Program

English

The Middle School English program at PARC International School is designed using the Common Core standards that prepare students for life outside the classroom.  Our students will learn to use logical reasoning and evidence collection skills in addition to critical-thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills that are all essential for success in college, career, and life.

Students will be inspired and challenged to reflect deeply about themselves and the world they live in through exploring themes in literature and other complex texts while enhancing their writing skills and improving their reading proficiency. Furthermore, they will be also encouraged to think creatively, critically and express their ideas in both oral and written forms.

Our English program emphasizes a development in student voice in both reading and writing. Students read and analyze grade-level appropriate texts in literature and other complex texts, write for a variety of audiences and purposes, present their work orally and in writing, utilize technology to enhance their understanding and their communication, follow the conventions of English language grammar, spelling, capitalization, punctuation, and make connections within works of literature, poetry, and informational texts.

The Science program at PARC International School provides students with opportunities for discovering and developing their own natural curiosity in a fun and engaging way. Our program aims to build a strong foundation in science that is characterized by deep understanding of basic science concepts and learning more advanced concepts in the future. The program will also empower them to ask more questions, think critically, and generate innovative ideas.

Our students will also build a conceptual understanding of the natural world and will be knowledgeable about the concepts and processes of the three major branches of science: earth, life, and physical sciences.
